Game of the Week – Chicken Party
Chicken Party is the latest 4-Reel, 20 payline video pokie from Booming Games. On the surface, it appeared that this game would be a fun, party-themed game featuring chickens. However, what we thought was a game with promise turned out to be very disappointing.
Continue reading to learn more about this game, the bonus features available, and where you can play this new pokie.
Chicken Party Brings the Chicks But Not As Much Bling
Chicken Party starts out looking like a very promising online pokie with what appears to be a fun, chicken party theme. The music reminds us of a 1970s style party, but that’s about as far as the “party” goes.
The symbols and backdrops are nothing overly impressive. There are chickens, hens, feathers, and a rooster. However, beyond the music, we don’t see where the party’s at.
Furthermore, the payouts on this game are somewhat disappointing. It reminds us of Real-Time Gaming pokies with a lot of lower-paying symbols that don’t turn a profit until you hit four of a kind on a reel. Even the top paying symbols fail to make you much unless you hit 4 of a kind.
The speed of this game is also somewhat slow. Occasionally, the reels spin for an excessively long time. At first, we thought it was a connection issue at our end, but it was an ongoing problem throughout the entire game.
Fortunately, there are a couple of bonus features that can help increase your payouts. That is if you can get lucky enough to hit them.
Random Wilds
When the Hen symbol lands on the first position of any of the reels, it will drop between 0 and 3 broken egg Wild symbols. The Wild serves for any of the paying symbols. It also pays 50 when a Hen appears in the first position of all four reels.
Also, during Free Spins, there will always be a Hen symbol at the top position of each reel. This gives you many more chances for wilds.
We were able to catch these wilds a few times but about half of the time, it didn’t create a payout. Only once did we get more than one wild.
Foxy Wins
If you land 3 or more Fox symbols in the first position, you will receive a multiplier on your current bet. When you land 3 Fox symbols, you will get either a 10x, 25x, 50x, or 100x multiplier at random.
If you manage to land all four Fox symbols, you will get a reward of a 2,000x multiplier. We only caught three fox symbols once for a 10x payout.
Free Spins
The Rooster serves as the Scatter for this game. When you land 3 scatters in the first position, you’ll get 8 free spins. When you land all four scatters, you will get 10 free spins.
Unfortunately, the free spin game is not retriggerable. That’s because there will be a Hen at the top of each reel to increase your chance of catching Wilds.
We also don’t like that you only get 10 free spins for landing all four scatters. It seems you should get 25 spins at least.
Unfortunately, we were unable to trigger this feature in our testing.
Chicken Party a High Variance Pokie That’s a Real Party Pooper
We were really hoping that Chicken Party would live up to its name, but in the end, we found this party to be somewhat of a dud. The game is classified as a high variance pokie, and our testing confirms as much.
This game has an RTP of just 95.07 percent, which is much lower than many of the slots we review. Low paying symbols combined with bonus features that are tough to catch makes this game somewhat of a party pooper.
Those that like to chase big payouts may enjoy it, but those looking to stretch your online bankroll should avoid this game. Chicken Party is available at Joka Room and other Australian online casinos offering Booming Games products.
