Reducing Your Variance With The 1-3-2-6 Betting System
Continuing our look at positive progression betting strategies, this week we will look at the 1-3-2-6 system. The 1-3-2-6 betting system is influenced by the Paroli system that we looked at last week. The system is great in that you only need two units to play it. Also, the system does not have nearly the variance as negative progression systems.
What is the 1-3-2-6 Betting System?
The 1-3-2-6 betting system is a positive progression system that you can use in even-money bets in online casino games like blackjack, roulette, craps, or baccarat. If you are playing with a small bankroll, this is a great system to try as you only need to risk two units per cycle.
Here is a breakdown of how the system works:
1. Make an even-money bet in games like those listed above. Let’s say you’re playing blackjack for $5 a unit. You’d start by betting 1 unit.
2. If you win, you will leave the money on the table and add 1 unit. At this point, you’ve risked 2 units out of pocket but are playing 3 units total. (Your bets plus the profit from the last hand.)
3. If you win again, this time you will remove 4 units from the table. This will leave two units.
4. For those lucky enough to make it to the final step, you will leave the profit from the last hand on the table and add 2 units to your bet. This makes 6 units total. If you win, the cycle is complete. Should you lose, you will break even.
If you happen to lose at any point during the first three steps, you will start over at the first step. When you manage to complete a winning cycle, you will finish up 10 units.
Advantages of the 1-3-2-6 System
The primary advantage of this system is that it is less swingy than negative progression systems. You only increase your bet when you win. Also, you start over anytime that you lose a hand. Let’s assume you lose at Step 3. You’ll actually finish up 2 units at this point. The final step is effectively a double or nothing type of bet. If you lose it, you will break even.
Next, the system is super simple to learn. There are just four steps to learn. If you lose, start over. Win four hands in a row and you start over. There’s nothing else to it.
Lastly, you do not have to have a massive bankroll to play this system. You can try it for as little as 2 units. If you have a small bankroll, such as 10 units or less, you can still get some play out of this system. You don’t need a massive bankroll like the Martingale or other negative progression systems.
Another Betting System That Won’t Break The Bank
The thing we like best about the 1-3-2-6 system is that you are significantly reducing your variance compared to other systems. You are risking no more than 2 units per cycle. If you’re playing online baccarat with a $1 table minimum, you can risk as little as $2 per cycle.
Whenever you make it past Step 2, the worst outcome is that you break even. You can’t say that for most other betting systems out there. Overall, this simple system will give you a good shot to turn a decent profit on hot streaks while minimizing your losses.
As always, remember that all betting systems will lose over the long-term as you cannot overcome the house edge built into online casino games. However, betting systems can help you win in the short term and help you have more fun while playing at online casinos.
