A $330 million renovation of the Adelaide Casino creates 800 plus ongoing job opportunities. It would have created as many jobs upon completion of the renovations. The builder that is responsible for the project is Hansen Yuncken. New and Fresh gaming zones, plus a rooftop bar with a luxury hotel will be built. The project will start from the following month.
The SkyCity Entertainment Group was given the green light by the state government last year July. The premier believes that the project will create and grow the state’s economy. He further added that – “Most importantly, it’s going to give us better infrastructure and better facilities to attract interstate and overseas visitors to South Australia,”

Hansen Yuncken took part in a consortium that helped build the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. Moreover, in 1995, it undertook the first Adelaide Casino development. State manager, Mark Rosenboom, said that the project will involve 1,000 building professionals and create 800 permanent jobs when it is completed. He further said Hansen Yuncken will start working closer with the local workers and suppliers to build and fit the 12-level development.
Improvement to the South Australian Tourism
Adelaide Casino’s general manager, Luke Walker, believes the growth will create a “noteworthy drawcard” for South Australia.
“The South Australian tourism industry has so much to offer interstate and international visitors. Moreover the introduction of this new facility complete with luxury hotel accommodation. Outstanding food and beverage offerings and world-class entertainment spaces will help to attract high-end visitors to the vibrant Riverbank Precinct and to the state,” Mr. Walker said.
Adelaide Casino – Building
There were a number of delays when it comes to the building of the hotel. However, SkyCity Entertainment Group had formerly indicated that the building will commence in mid-2016. Hansen Yuncken and SkyCity Adelaide said construction was scheduled for completion in 2020. The Independent Gaming Authority and State Government have made it clear that the casino will have all the systems put in place in order to prevent and identify problem gamblers from premium gambling areas.
