Three Fun Video Poker Variants All Players Should Try
There are all forms of video poker variants that you can play at Australian online casinos. Today we are going to give you some fun video poker games to play that are a bit different than what you’re normally used to.
Note that these games do not always have the best odds. Instead, we are picking games that add something extra to your video poker playing experience or can award massive prizes. They are also great alternatives to playing blackjack or other casino games.
Wheel Poker
A popular variant of video poker that you will see in live and online casinos is wheel poker. This is a multi-line video poker game where you pick which variant you want to play, such as Bonus Poker. You would then play as normal.
When you hit four of a kind, you get a spin on the big prize wheel that will award you additional credits on top of the payout for four of a kind. For example, if you hit four aces on Bonus Poker, you will get 400 credits plus whatever you land on the prize wheel. Prizes range from 100 to 4,000 depending on the casino.
For this game, you are playing six credits per line rather than five. Also, since the spin only triggers on four of a kind, you may not get more than one spin of the prize wheel per session. However, if you land a big prize, you can end up walking away with a prize close to what you’d get for hitting a royal flush normally.
Super Times Pay Video Poker
Super Times Pay video poker is similar to your standard multi-line video poker game but has one unique feature. At random, a multiplier spinner will appear and will give you a multiplier between 2x and 10x. This multiplier is for all hands in play.
For example, if you have are dealt two pair and hit a 3x multiplier, you will win at least 30 credits on a max bet rather than 10. If you happen to draw to a full hour or four of a kind, your bet for those hands is tripled as well.
The biggest catch to playing this game is that max credits for each line are 6 credits rather than five. Also, there are times where you will go long streaks without hitting the multiplier. This game is best suited for games such as Double Double Bonus poker where a multiplier can really pay off big when you hit one of the big four of a kind hands or a royal flush.
Draw Poker With Dream Card
Another variation of multi-hand video poker is Draw Poker With Dream Card. This game offers many of the standard video poker variants like Jacks or Better and Double Double Bonus, but with a special Dream Card feature. When activated, you will receive a dream card that will give you the best possible card for your current hand.
For example, if you are dealt a 3, 5, 7, and J as your first four cards, the Dream Card will be a jack to give you a pair to start with. This doesn’t sound that exciting, but what if you were dealt K-J-K-J as your first four? Your dream card will then be a King to give you a winning full house on all lines.
There are a couple of catches to playing this game. First, you will be betting 10 credits per line rather than 5. Also, the Dream Card does not activate every hand. It activates fairly often but you’re shelling out a lot of money for this feature. However, you will get more shots at big hands like four aces or a royal flush due to the dream card.
These Video Poker Games May Not Be Available at All Casinos
Note that the games listed above may not be at all online casinos in Australia. Larger casinos like Bonza Spins or Joka Room are great places to start when looking for these games. Again, these games may not have the best odds at the casino, but they are fun alternatives to help you have more fun while gambling online.
