The GGPoker leg of the 2020 World Series of Poker Online continues. To this point, 26 bracelet events have played to conclusion. While the number of Aussies making the final table has been limited, we do have our first Aussie champion of the series. Hun Wei Lee won Event #37: $1,050 Bounty PL Omaha for his first bracelet title. Lee also made the final table of the $5,000 NL Hold’em 6-Max Championship.
Meanwhile, another Aussie may be crowned champion this weekend as high roller superstar Michael Addamo has made the final four in the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship.

The event kicked off on July 23rd with a field of 971 players looking to take down the second Omaha poker bracelet of the WSOP Online at GGPoker. The final table of this event included a couple of notables, including Paul Teoh and Chris Timmis of the UK. Hun Wei Lee was the only Aussie at the final table. By the time he reached heads-up play with Janne “Fructu” Peltoniemi, he a 5 to 1 chip lead. Lee went on to easily dispatch Peltoniemi and win his first WSOP bracelet.
In addition to the $79k in prize money, Lee collected around $82,000 in bounties to give him a total prize of $161,866. However, this wasn’t Lee’s only taste of final table action this series.
Lee also made the final table of the $5,000 NL Hold’em Six-Max Championship that concluded Wednesday morning. However, this time around, he only managed an eighth-place finish. Ravid Garbi of Israel defeated online poker giant Chris Moorman to take down the title.
Michael Addamo Makes Final Four of Heads-Up Championship
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael Addamo will be looking for his third title this weekend as he has made the final four in the $10,000 Heads-Up NL Hold’em Championship. Over the weekend, the first five rounds of the event were played and Addamo masterfully made his way to the final four.
The event had a field of 128 players and Addamo drew heavy hitter Connor Drinan in the first round. After dispatching Drinan, Addamo moved on to defeat Shota Hirao in the round of 64. Gabriel Campanha fell to Addamo in the round of 32, setting up a match with GGPoker ambassador Bertrand Grospellier.

The battle between Grospellier and Addamo came down to a flip. Addamo shoved with A-K and Grospellier made the snap-call with pocket queens. An ace on the flop gave Addamo the lead and he turned two pair when a king hit the board.
In the Elite Eight round, Addamo faced Pedro Waldburger. Walburger got a bit unlucky in his final hand as he turned two pair against a pair of aces for Addamo. Addamo spiked trip aces on the river to take the hand and advance to the final four.
On Saturday, Addamo will face Michael Zhang in the final four while David Peters will face Alyssa MacDonald. Based on experience, we are expecting a Peters-Addamo final. That final could prove extremely interesting to watch as both are WSOP bracelet winners. We will bring you the results of this event next week.
